Arranged marriage was an age-old story that Khushi, the youngest of the infamous Gupta family, who revolutionized and dominated the trading market for generations, knew well. For it was the only thing she heard growing up. But that neither prepared her nor comforted her as she got ready that morning. It was an important day, a day where she would trade her surname for a new one, her silence for a new chance, her respect for a new hope, her life for another. It was a day of contracts, both new and old. As she hid behind the traditional red shawl, knowing that the whole world would be watching her, waiting to pounce, she wondered why her mother never told her about any of the good marriages. "Yes, I am in love with you. I've been in love with you for the past 14 years, ever since the first day I saw you. You probably haven't noticed since you're always thinking about yourself! I don't know what these past couple of months meant to you Arnav, or those small moments throughout all the years we have known each other but they meant something to me. I want to be with you. I want to spend my life with you. I have these stupid dreams about you Arnav! I accepted the same University as you, because I thought we could possible be together even then!! I have been hoping that just maybe, one day we'll get married and have kids. We'll grow old together and watch our grand kids play by our porch. Why is that Arnav?? Why can't I picture myself with anyone except you?" she asked desperately, tears streaking down her face. "I've never felt like this for anyone Arnav. And obviously, the one person I do feel it for, doesn't give a damn!" she said pushing him. She turned to leave, but Arnav grasped her hands, and pulled her to his chest. "Khushii listen to me. I'm sorry. These past couple of months were fun, but it was just a good friendship going on between us. One day, you'll move on and find someone who trulyloves you. We could never have that future Khushi, I'm sorry you feel this way." replied Arnav, his voice sounding much calmer than the one in his head.

Blinded by misunderstanding and anger, Arnav forces Khushi to marry him on the night of his brother and her sister's wedding. He makes it clear that they will be together for only six months and this whole thing is nothing but a contract to him - Neither will he ever accept her as his wife nor will she ever attain the status of his wife. They will be nothing but a pretense of a happily married couple. Then something happens. Something that shows Arnav that the truth is not always what we see but some times, it is something that we fail to perceive with the naked eye. And with that realization - heartbroken and guilty - Arnav sets on the path of redeeming everything he messed up. ___________ Author's note: This story has gone through a heavy editing. I was unsatisfied of the way I wrote the story - both the language and character development seemed weak to me. This is why, you can call this version the revised version of Daayre. While the main plot has remained the same, I have essentially changed few scenes completely. The characters, in my opinion, are now far more stronger and better. I hope you like this version just as much as I do. :)

Based on the popular show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon Season 1 Khushi and Arnav represent the worst part of each other's pasts. Neither want anything to do with each other but fate seems to have other plans. Follow along as these two attempt to turn the pain of yesterday into hope for tomorrow.

Where do you find a love so potent, it crosses the boundaries of distance and time itself?

A story based on the characters of Indian TV series Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? Not related to the series, so can be read as an independent story too. Arnav and Lavanya are engaged to be married, but when Lavanya elopes, all hell breaks loose, and Khushi, her best friend, has to pay the price. Khushi is harboring a secret from the Raizadas, and when she enters the Raizada household, she struggles with her conscience, since she really likes the family. Arnav wants to find out Khushi's secrets, while trying to keep his distance from her. A light-hearted, sweet tale about the journey two strangers take to get to their very own romantic end.
