Jamie Forrester is the seventeen year old son of a hopeful congressman who was not looking forward to his father's election party. He then meets Dylan Reed, an old and forgotten childhood friend. The two quickly reconnect, but Jamie soon discovers Dylan's arrogant, xenophobic, and racist ways but chooses to ignore them instead. The pair of friends then get invited to the most exclusive party in town, and what was once supposed to be a night to remember soon turned out to be so; but for the worst. As Jamie was driving a car he had borrowed, Dylan intentionally hits an innocent bystander, and all fingers point to Jamie.
