Mikey found two magical bracelets, that ended up splitting Donnie's personality into two people. The Red one has all of his bravery, enthusiasm and recklessness. While the Blue one has all of Donnie's stressed, paranoia and caution.

'Love. Donnie couldn't help but ponder what that word really meant in this circumstance. You were not exclusively his, nor vice versa, so what did 'I love you' truly mean in this position? He thought about how distant the true meaning of 'love' had drifted from the word itself in his own mind; he'd heard the word so many times that it had nearly lost its meaning. Almost as if it undermined the true severity of what it implied. The word was strong and important, but not sacred. At least not within his family. DId that make his feelings significant anymore? What would it mean to love someone, to truly love someone, if the word lost all meaning?'

Donatello is working in his lab, when Mikey comes in an messes stuff up. Now Donatello who was somehow turned into a kid has none of his current memories only those of his years as a child. Donatello's family and friends must find a way to return him back to himself, and protect him from any enemy. Or is Donatello stuck as he is? A kid?
