Returning from a mission in the city of Antropolis, Alpha Team finds that a set of newcomers has been introduced to Makuhero City. When they find out what that means for them, they realize that the age of the Hero Factory, the manufacturer of peace, is over.

Five hundred years after the Battle of Bara Magna, six Matoran from all over the planet of Spherus Magna are called to the Toa Suva located in the heart of Tajun. Meanwhile, six shadow beings, remnants of Makuta Teridax's downfall, awaken. When a warrior from thousands of years before joins the Last Toa, secrets from the past will enrich the legends of the future. The final battle between good and evil will lead to the discovery of a mysterious substance called Life Stone and determine the fate of all those who live in peace on Spherus Magna. And whether or not the final battle will take place remains to be seen.
