Follow the Clown's transformation from sane to insane, all through the eyes of the person who was there to witness it all. So basically this is based off of 10 Things I Hate About You and Patrick sort of becomes the Joker... And yeah. The title is taken from the Joker's quote in Alan Moore's "The Killing Joke". There are various origin stories of the Clown, it is not limited to one. So this is my made up origin story of the Joker. Book started: Oct. 9th, 2019. Ended:? The Joker was once a little boy named Jack. Since they were in diapers, Eva Hartman was his best and only friend through the hell that they both endured behind closed doors. When they are suddenly separated, as far as Jack knows, she has abandoned him. What happens on this day is the final blow to Jack's psyche, and soon the Joker is born. Twelve years later, Eva and the Joker end up in the same place at the same time. Due to the misunderstanding of what really happened that day when they were younger, seeing her face fills him with the rage of being abandoned and left with a void in his heart and a lack of faith in anybody but himself. Will she be able to explain to him what really happened that day, before he kills her? Will learning the truth change the rage and pain he's been holding onto for over a decade?
