Francis is looking for comfort. Richard is making a mistake. _____________________________________________________ This is my own take on the kissing scene between Richard and Francis on the night that Bunny dies. What if Charles had not interrupted them? Told from Richard's POV. The first couple paragraphs are taken from the book. My writing starts right after the line "It's fun. I promise you."

I don't remember much from high school. I found most classes boring aside from history and science. One of my favorite lessons pertained to the sun. My teacher informed us the sun is ten thousand degrees. I tried to picture it but couldn't considering mere hundred degree weather feels like the hottest kind of sweltering. I found comfort in knowing nothing on earth could burn as bright as our neighboring star- until I met the grecophiles that is. They were like planets in a solar system, much larger than earth with an unimaginable gravitation pull. All centered around and shining being who kept them in line. I was intrigued- and into the orbit I fell.

Kalopsia [ka-lop-se-a] Greek (n.) The delusion of things being more beautiful than they really are. Poetry. Mostly intertwined with Tales of Greek Mythology. "Will wonders never cease When my muse saunters the velvet night, And prays to the moon for fine dreams, With the voice of a thousand angels singing a symphony?" "You obliterated her heart Ruined her morality Invaded her thoughts without permission And filled her senses with poison." "A single flower, the Hyacinth To be here for all time, Til the earth goes for the long rest, And til we all are dying, And on its softest petals, I inscribe my sorrows "alas" For all time." #1 in free verse as of 1/21/21 #4 in poetry as of 3/24/22 #1 in dark academia as of 10/5/20 #1 in romanticism as of 11/18/20 #1 in light academia as of 1/16/21 #12 in poet as of 1/20/21
