The gates were shut and his cold heart was broken. He sat there emotionless listening to the cries of his people as they weep and the sorrow that lingered through the whole kingdom. Thranduil gripped the sides of his throne trying to not think of that day, the day his world came falling apart the day he lost everything. When the girl's mother informed her she was going to be married, the young elven princess was excited. Until she learned she was going to marry the prince of Mirkwood, the kingdom's old rival. The princess didn't want to. She knew she could never love their rival. But she would do anything for her kingdom. If her marriage could form an alliance with a powerful enemy, she would do anything. And that's what she intended to do.
