Natalie has known Jack Reacher since they were little, both their families--His dad and both her parents--having served in the military, so they usually lived in the same town(s). She, Joe, & Jack were practically inseparable, especially after the Reachers took her in when her parents died on their last deployment. Then, both she and Jack served in the military as part of the 110th Special Investigations Unit before they eventually decided to roam the US with nothing but a toothbrush for him and a few bare essentials for her. No rules, no regulations, no limits, and nothing tying them down to anything or anyone except each other. When the two decide to stop in a small town to find out more about an old blues singer and maybe try a slice of peach pie, they're arrested for a murder they didn't commit and must figure out who framed them and why before things get out of hand.
