It's been two years since Newt first woke up to the Glade and, since Alby and he managed to enforce a number of rules to stop anarchy among all the other boys, nothing has changed much. He was blonde, tall and perfect. In his hand he gripped firmly to a long wooden stick, as if his life depended on it. Thomas looked back at this boy's face, but then gasped. His eyes were a glazed cloudy, unseen grey. The boy was blind. [will no longer be updating.]

The last thing I remember was my body hitting the ground. I open my eyes to see a blinding white light, and then he's standing there. Newt. And he was smiling. He looked as if he was the happiest boy alive; like he had never been broken. "Welcome to heaven, Tommy," smirked Newt, "took you long enough to get here."

[EDIT 1] My work is currently undergoing some revisions. I wrote this 5 years ago, and needless to say, some of the dialogue, scenes, wording, and overall feel is quite childish. Not all of it, but some of it. I've decided to revisit my original first story and make it better. The story is definitely much more mature now, and I think everyone will enjoy it better now that the tone has changed to fit the melancholy nature of my story. Thanks in advance. Thomas is an outgoing 21 year old junior in college and Newt is a shy 19 year old freshman. Together the over come some pretty serious stuff including school, family, and social issues.
