Judah Young hasn't ever really had to worry about much in life. Her parents, divorced and both happily re-married, made enough money to see her into college and she's always had her best friend, Mason Rivers, right by her side. So, when Mason does the unthinkable, Judah doesn't just feel the carpet get ripped away from under her feet: she watches as her entire world disintegrates around her. Grappling with shocking revelations she doesn't want to believe are true, Judah stumbles through the second half of her junior year at the University of British Columbia, barely holding it together. It doesn't help that Aubin Abaya, UBC's star tight-end, begins pushing the boundaries of their strictly friends with benefits arrangement, determined to help the girl he's been sharing his bed with for months when she needs someone the most.
