On the world of Ila, where gods and ethereal beings walk among men, a cosmic catastrophe has left the inhabitants in a dystopian decay where magic and technology, tradition and progress are in constant conflict. The children of the gods struggle to learn their fates and who they are, and where an unseen force presses down on them, threatening to destroy all magic and ancient mystical things. In the midst of all of this, a traveler of origin unknown, named only Serene, becomes an unlikely partner to a solitary acolyte on a mission.
