"So you really don't talk Little Miss Mute?" There was a thud as Noah Karters fell to the floor clutching his nose. I looked down at my balled fist, my senses slowly returning, and I bolted through the halls, pushing through multiple onlookers. Then, I decided to turn around, only to see Jadia Fryer crouching down beside him, fanning all over his face, but his steel gray gaze was burning straight into me. I glared and spoke with as much menace then I've ever spoken to anyone. "Never call me mute." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ladley Lynn Ciders has an intricate past and has learnt over time how to build walls and just how many people you should let in. One person she didn't expect to have to let in would be Noah Joseph Karters, Stratton Guarder High's infamous bad boy. But before you click read or scroll past, you should know something. This is not a cliche romance story, Ladley is better than that. Rather how two broken souls found that sometimes it's okay to step out of your comfort zone, and that judging a book by its cover is possibly one of the most dangerous thing you can do. Invisible, Leah just wants to stay that way, the girl in the greenhouse who never asks for attention. Life has never been easy for her and for once she would just like to catch a break. Meeting Hunter Hayes makes both easy and invisible quite impossible though, as Leah soon finds out. Will Leah let Hunter in on her dark and secret past or will Hunter be left out in the cold? What's more, will the beautiful shop assistant Tori manage to steal Hunter's heart before he or Leah realize if they truly have something? Sometimes you just have to ask yourself, is it better to see or be seen? ------- "Why didn't you tell me?" I jump, Hunter is in the dark corner of the room, leaning against the wall. "Because I don't tell anyone." "I would've understood." His words reach me and then I can't see through my tear-filled eyes. I close them and shake my head. "No you wouldn't, you can't. I still don't." I hear his feet shuffle, I'm scared he's going to come over to me. I put my head in my hands. "Well, if you ever need to talk, if you need anything... I'm here. That's what friends are for." "Thanks but I'll be okay." I push out in the most normal voice I can manage. I'm broken, can't he see that? Why does he want to be friends with a broken girl? I hear him leave and I take my hands away from my face, staring at the closed door. 'Friends.' I think, that's how Jacob and I started. But look how that turned out. A/N: this book deals with serious topics such as PTSD, trauma, and abuse. If you would like to do more research on these topics to understand Leah I encourage you to do so. Her inner mind is a mess for the reason that her life experiences are weighing her down. It's never shameful to get help if you find yourself in any kind of similar situation. It isn't always easy to accept help, but if someone offers or you need to ask take the help. You deserve to piece yourself back together again.

"Stop checking him out!" I looked over at Leah. I let a small sigh escape my lips. "He'll ask you to prom, I promise." I nodded my head, trying to believe her words. Sure I am a cheerleader and David is a football player, but he is also best friends with my twin brother. "I don't know Leah... wouldn't Gabe be so pissed if he did?" "Maybe, but he would just have to get over it. Natalie I swear he's gonna ask you." Leah wrapped me in a hug, trying to make me feel better... "Everyone is saying he's gonna." ••• Let me give you a little background on me. I've been in love with David Andrews since Freshman year. Well I mean I guess before that, but we don't talk about it then. David just always had a way to give me butterflies without even trying, which not a lot of people could do that to me, since I'm a popular cheerleader and everything. And yes, I have slept with people on the football team before you ask. I'm not a saint! I go to party, drink, grind on guys. I'm not big on drugs though, I've vaped but it never really interested me, so I stopped. But if one thing could make my high school experience worth it, dating David would make my dreams come true. I really do love him...

This story is about a totally original and innovative take on romance here on wattpad My brothers best friend Wow, never heard that one before, I know! ... Okay, maybe you have. Obviously. But you have never read this take on the exhaustingly over done trope of the protagonist falling in love with her brothers best friend So give it a chance! :) The first chapter is basically an introduction/description that would have been impossible to fit in this little space
