After Shiro goes missing on a past mission his connection with the black lion is gone. He's dead. Everyone is devastated because of this but Keith is absolutely destroyed. Without long to mourn, it's time for the black lion to choose a new pilot and to Keith's dismay he's chosen. The team captures a Galran who seems to be linked to Zarkon's high command, they intend to get information from him on the Galra plans. Lance, of course, is the first to talk to the emo Galran, and though he manages to get the info he needs, he tricks the Galran, Keith, which leads to a very rocky start. As the team discovers more about the Red Lion and it's Paladin, they learn that Keith may be of more use to them than just a prisoner.
