His tears fell faster and his screams became louder until he felt a strong, reassuring hand on his shoulder. 'It's going to be alright, kid' said the voice. 'Mr. Stark?' As Peter's life falls apart he puts on a face of lies. He's done this before right? He knows how to grief silently without disturbing those around him. But what if he's put in a room full of assassins, spies and a mindreader? Will his fortress of lies come crashing down on him? This is just an idea I'm throwing together and yes I don't really know how to write descriptions. It probably won't be great, it's just a bit of a creative output! The media always loves a soft, single dad, so it's perfect to get the PR they need. Pepper is enraged. Rhodey is disappointed. Happy is confused. All of this, Tony expected. What he doesn't expect is to bring home a kind-hearted, intelligent, four-year-old kid named Peter who slowly gets him to come out of his egocentric shell.
