Emma Woodhouse, aged 20 at the start of the novel, is a young, beautiful, witty, and privileged woman in Regency England. She lives on the fictional estate of Hartfield in Surrey in the village of Highbury with her elderly widowed father, a hypochondriac who is excessively concerned for the health and safety of his loved ones. Emma's friend and only critic is the gentlemanly George Knightley, her neighbour from the adjacent estate of Donwell, and the brother of her elder sister Isabella's husband, John. As the novel opens, Emma has just attended the wedding of Miss Taylor, her best friend and former governess. Having introduced Miss Taylor to her future husband, Mr. Weston, Emma takes credit for their marriage, and decides that she rather likes matchmaking.

Don't show fear. Don't attract attention. Don't forget who the monsters are. Those are seventeen-year-old Janneke's three rules to surviving in the Permafrost. Her family is dead, her village burned to the ground, and now she's a slave in a court of merciless goblins. Though her master, Soren, offers her a small sphere of protection, it comes at the cost of abandoning humanity and their ways for good. When the Goblin King is defeated in a fight, it ignites an ancient competition to become the next King. The goal is simple: kill the sacred White Stag before the other goblins kill you. Soren sees it as the perfect opportunity to shape Janneke's acceptance of the goblins' way and give in to the hatred and violence festering inside of her. Janneke's only hope for survival is to outrun, outfight, and out-kill every creature in her path, all the while dealing with Soren, whose fierce desire for her to be a goblin is shadowed by his fascination for her human heart. Hunting the Stag is Janneke's best chance at revenge over those who enslaved her, but to succeed, she'll have to watch her humanity bleed out like the creatures she's sworn to kill. **CREDIT FOR THE WONDERFUL COVER GOES TO @seventhstar *** ***COMPLETED. Stars rain from the sky. They shatter the earth, and their ichor fills her wounds. Mire. The sacred substance which either kills or transforms any living thing it touches. That which remakes the world. All eighteen-year-old Nikessa's ever wanted was to be a chryshunter--one of those whose work it is to seek out and dig up the magical fossilized remains of ancient mirefallen beasts. But when she's made an heir after the death of her cousin, she's forced to give up her dreams and travel to her birthplace--even as stars fall, new and horrible beasts roam the land, and tensions mount between nations. There she's to learn which seat of power will be hers--and to which five of the Mirelands' other heirs she'll be betrothed. But things at the capitol are not well, and some of those whom she once trusted prove traitorous. In the midst of a violent coup, Nik finds herself relying on powers she can barely fathom to fight an enemy she never imagined...all for a throne she doesn't even want. But if it means saving the lands and people she loves, she's more than ready to wear the crown. (I will be making major edits to every chapter of this story in the near future. This will involve totally replacing the content of all existing chapters here as well as resubmitting the stories entirely to Scribblehub and RoyalRoad. *to be edited: please excuse any continuity errors and / or mistakes in regards the writing quality of Hades* Ellie is just like every other normal eighteen year old girl in the world, except for one big reason. She's the daughter of Hades. And an immortal goddess in charge of managing suicide in the world. And she's been locked in the darkness of the Underworld for her entire life. So basically, her life couldn't get any more abnormal if she tried. Ellie longs to experience life like everybody else her age, but for as long as she can remember her parents haven't let her travel up to the surface, and she's been forced to imagine the upper world through the stories her mother told and the books she read. Until, one day, her parents finally give in and let her go up to the surface to see the world through her own eyes, and her world explodes with colour. Then, just when she thinks her life couldn't get more exciting, she stumbles across a very particular green-eyed god; one who throws her perfectly organised world into complete chaos and shows her what it means to live in the light. But what Ellie doesn't know, is that the Fates have a prophecy for her. A prophecy that she couldn't escape if she tried. A prophecy that has tangled it's gnarled fingers into the threads of her life, and may just throw the world into the darkness Ellie has spent her whole life trying to escape. "He's the son of Aphrodite, she's the daughter of Hades. He's light, she's the oncoming darkness. He advocates for love, she's the embodiment of death. What could possibly go wrong?" (Third book in the "Hades" series)
