Through a series of twists and turns, Jolene is left clinging to life on the side of a mountain. Will her rescue just be a lucky coincidence or is it fate? Miakoda, a 'Wapiti' Native American girl whose world was shattered from a young age. Everything was taken from her due to colonization. Going into hiding with her grandmother up in the mountains to avoid going into a reservation, there they must rely on each other and the wilds. The world and isolation has turned Miakoda as cold as her surroundings, angry, untrusting and cautious until they discover a young person clinging to life.
