This is the story of a man named Stanley. Stanley worked for a company in a big building where he was Employee #427. Employee #427's job was simple: he sat at his desk in Room 427 and he pushed buttons on a keyboard. Orders came to him through a monitor on his desk telling him what buttons to push, how long to push them, and in what order. This is what Employee #427 did every day of every month of every year, and although others may have considered it soul rending, Stanley relished every moment that the orders came in, as though he had been made exactly for this job. And Stanley was happy. And then one day, something very peculiar happened. Something that would forever change Stanley; Something he would never quite forget. He had been at his desk for nearly an hour when he had realized not one single order had arrived on the monitor for him to follow. No one had shown up to give him instructions, call a meeting, or even say 'hi'. Never in all his years at the company had this happened, this complete isolation. Something was very clearly wrong. Shocked, frozen solid, Stanley found himself unable to move for the longest time. But as he came to his wits and regained his senses, he got up from his desk and stepped out of his office.

In 1866, ships of several nations spot a mysterious sea monster, which some suggest is a giant narwhal. The US government assembles an expedition to find and destroy the monster. Professor Pierre Aronnax, a French marine biologist (and narrator within the story) receives a last-minute invitation to join the expedition. As the expedition travels south around Cape Horn into the Pacific Ocean, the crew finds the monster after a long search and then attack it, but the ship is damaged with the three main protagonists thrown into the water. They are quickly captured and then meet the enigmatic Captain Nemo. ~ Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea is a classic science fiction novel by French writer Jules Verne and was originally published in 1870. The novel was originally serialized between March 1869 and June 1870 in Pierre-Jules Hetzel's periodical, the Magasin d'Éducation et de Récréation. An illustrated edition, published by Hetzel in November 1871, included 111 illustrations by Alphonse de Neuville and Édouard Riou. Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea is regarded as one of the premiere adventure novels and one of Verne's greatest works, along with Around the World in Eighty Days and Journey to the Center of the Earth. ||This story contains violence, traumatic flashbacks, sensitive topics, language, and mild romance|| It's the year 2024. Akari Takahashi lives in the modern world that's full of nothing but dullness, laziness, hate, and cruelty. Her father disapproves of her and with the loss of her supportive mother, it almost seems as if nobody cares for her. Technology is everywhere, kicking her out of her job and sucking the life out of the world and the humanity out of society. Having a love for the past and The Beatles, Akari tries to bring the styles back into the modern world. However her attempts won't be able to change society, it's as if she's yelling out to deaf world. However, one reoccurring question keeps bugging her: What if I had lived in the 60s, if I had the chance to see The Beatles perform live even if it were just once? What if she had a time machine? When Akari finds herself in 1964, her eyes brighten. However, the world can only see a person who acts just so different from everyone else as unnatural..different. How can she keep the truth hidden? How can she face the consequences of time travel? What will happen when she runs into a Beatle. ....... ||Disclaimer: The title is of course inspired by the film, Back to The Past. I do not own The Beatles or any of their songs (obviously). I also do not have any information of the future so events and themes of the year 2024 may not be accurate. I also don't know the Beatles personally of course so personalities may not be accurate. I have done research and have tried to match the events in this story close to what was happening in 1964, however some things may be changed or left out.|| Started writing on 02/17/2020, Akari_Takahashi
