England, 1882, Bedfordshire, Elsie, a young woman living in a big mansion with a vineyard is trying to get on with her life. She lives in comfort because of her marriage with a much older wealthy man, a life she never chose, her father, a baron, deciding everything for her. She has servants looking after her needs, but she is not happy, she feels like her life is not complete and she wants to find the spark. One day something happens to her husband. Her life is then turned upside down when she meets another village widow, Millie, a countess.

This follows Cahya Malfoy, sister to Lucius Malfoy, from their time in Hogwarts, to the Battle, and potentially further. She had always envied Lucius' many achievements, and the favouritism he had received from their father, Abraxas. She didn't know that this envy would follow much more than this, for most of her life. Both striking similarity and difference with her brother was a more dangerous combination than anticipated, as were the complications of her own self emerging.
