He takes to the skies with his night fury, Toothless, meanwhile ignoring Astrid's warnings about the distant storm clouds, a mistake he will later regret. A horrible series of events sends Hiccup and Toothless to a foreign land with no way to get home. The pair find themselves completely lost.

A massive storm comes out of nowhere one day, sucking the dragon riders in and taking then far from home. They wake up on an odd island that they've never seen before. But the deeper they travel into it's forests, the more they realize this is no regular land. Things that should never be possible start happening, and they soon find themselves in a desperate fight for survival. And no matter what they try, there doesn't seem to be a way off the cursed island. It isn't until they meet a strange girl with a strange name that things start to take a turn for the better. Love begins to blossom in the land where anything is possible. Will they make it off the island? Or are their fates sealed? The longer they're trapped, the more they learn. This island is not what it seems. And this strange girl is more than she appears to be. Little bit of creep factor, lots of character development in the beginning.
