People have been able to write on their skin since pens were invented, but eventually a skin adaptation allowed people to be able to write to their soulmate by their skin. Whatever you wrote on your own skin shows up in the same spot on them. This ability appears when you turn 17. You can't write to or be written to until then. Sometimes the universe gives people multiple soulmates, like if one dies young, you will be able to write to your second so long as they're of age. Bokuto and Kuroo have (unknowingly) been writing to each other for around a year, before something... strange... happens.
