Brynn Holden's been good her whole life. Mostly. She's always done what her parents told her to do, eaten her vegetables, and even got good grades in school. She's never talked to strangers, never asked for help, never not given help. So when life barrels into her in the form of Mason Hardie, whom she immediately dubs an "infuriating, misogynistic idiot", she retaliates the best way she knows how to: ignore him. But it's hard to ignore someone who's consistently in your life. And little by little, he wriggles his way into Brynn's supposedly stone-cold heart. And amidst a scatter-brained, seemingly perfect relationship, Brynn and Mason are thrown a sudden curveball, one they're not sure they can take on and survive through together. In which fat cats on leashes, drunken ramblings, illnesses, and basically all-around chaos ensues. *new project! So much fun working with my awesome friend, striped-dianthus, on this work. ;)

"Over four hundred years ago, we were saved by a man named Adrig. In his glory, he ascended to power and called himself God. People believed him. Now he is long dead, but his government still reigns. They are protecting us from the world we live in, from each other, and even from ourselves." It's the same story every year. My name is Adrianna and I live in a world of no emotion, no individuality and no freedom. We all do. People know little of the lies they have been fed, of how much better life can be. It's easy to fall for the tales of Adrig. But I won't be fooled. I am a participant in the Pageant, like every eighteen year old girl must be. They say it's a duty; they say it's an honour. I know what it really is. I understand the truth. It is no more than a contest, and those who lose, die. What kind of world is this anyway? -Domed (Previously Pageant To The Death) ** SCIENCE FICTION #657 - FANTASY #794 (1 September 2014) Copyright © 2014 by Patricia West DO NOT STEAL MY WORK

But playing the wholesome daughter of a Spanish admiral among rag-tag buccaneers isn't easy either, and to avoid both discovery and the gallows she'll have to learn to rely on more than just her wits and her charm. But is Alestair Kincade really on her side? Or will his protection and his love both disappear the moment he learns the truth? This novella was a Hugo and Nebula nominee twenty years ago. I lost both to Charles Sheffield -- whom I married five years later. Life sometimes really is just as strange as fiction.

[Formerly Featured/Award-Winning Novella/#2 in Horror] There is something eerie about this village -- this hole of silent, maddened people. In 1922 my Papa told me of a faceless entity that lurks amongst us in our isolated slice of Russia. The locals have kept this horror alive for a century, though the only ones who claim to have seen the Folveshch have succumbed to a life of sightless silence. My name is Stefan Alyovich and the people around me are changing. They slip into worsening madness every winter, and I ask myself: how much longer before I'm the only sane one left? ... The only one left alone with the Folveshch. ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟- ↟ • 21,000 word novella • Rank #2 in Horror • Rank #4 in Mystery • Horror winner of Greatbelt U.F Award 2015 • CBY October Book of the Month 2014 • The Cryptic Awards Best Horror Winner 2017 • Wattpad HQ Winter Escapes Reading List • Wattpad HQ Stranger Things Reading List • Fright Top Horror/Featured Horror/Stranger Things Reading Lists • Mystery Paranormal Mystery Reading List • ThePurgeMovie Urban Legends Reading List • TheGallowsMovie Best of Thrillers Reading List • Blairwitchmovie Top Horror/Thriller Reading List • OuijaMovie Top Horror Reading List • IncarnateMovie Top Horror ↟- ↟ - ↟ - ↟- ↟- ↟ - ↟ - ↟ - ↟- ↟ - ↟ - ↟ - ↟ - ↟-

Most blogs don't chronicle a horrifying, high-stakes struggle against otherworldly evil. Mark Huntley's does. In the fall of 2004, as the brutal campaign of Bush vs. Kerry draws to a close in Washington, D.C., even more sinister forces are gathering power in secret. For young Mark, who's seeing things he shouldn't see-- as a forgotten, destructive nature awakens inside him-- politics are the least of his worries. Every choice he makes could cost the lives of those he loves. When Jack Gibson becomes infected with The Red Plague, turning him into a so-called Zombie, his life suddenly gets complicated. Kara, his cheerleader girlfriend, dumps him. Then, after a Zombie riot, his mother decides the city is too dangerous and drags him back to Osborne, the hick town where she grew up. Things go from bad to worse as Jack learns the town is being run by Garret Sweeney, a psychotic preacher with the hots for his mother. As it turns out, the preacher has a few secrets of his own, and will stop at nothing to get his way... not even murder. When Jack discovers that rock music helps him think more clearly, things start to look up for him and he even decides to help some of the other Zombies at his new school. But he can't seem to win for losing, because it only gets him in more hot water with Garret. How long can Jack hide his secret? Who can a Zombie trust? Will he be able to stop Garret before it's too late? Find out the answers to these questions and much, much more, as Jack struggles to hold on to his humanity and save the people he loves. Note From Author: Hi, Thank you for checking out my book! There's so much to read on Wattpad, and I am grateful for all of the support that I've received. I've tried to bring something a little different to the zombie genre, and I hope you enjoy Jack's story. If so, please consider voting, commenting, and sharing with your friends using the "Share" option that is available for all Wattpad books. It took many many hours to write Zombie Rock. Your feedback and support is what makes it all worthwhile. You Rock! :-)

1991. Journalist Duke Johnson must uncover why his news service is blaming the wrong side for the Yugoslav wars, and what happened to his parents during WWII. The stories told to him by his lover, Jelena, draw him further into the conspiracy until learning that the answers lie in a horrific event that occurred fifty years prior--a holocaust which was buried from history. Please note that this is a PG-13 story. There are some raw, brutal, and sexual scenes, but nothing gratuitous. While not enough to warrant an R-rating, IMO, this is not a story for young readers or those who aren't prepared for an honest depiction of events. .......... I started researching this story sometime ago, when I saw Christianne Amanpour of CNN stand over a pit of graves harkening back to World War II. I took years to try and understand why people were so intent on killing each other. Was it human nature, or was it--as I soon began to learn--something far more insidious and depraved? Even now I can't pretend to know the answer. But what I learnt sent me on an odyssey that continues on, opening up a world of secret cabals and shadow governments, of battles fought in the name greed not patriotism, of a very real Big Brother who willingly pulls the trigger on those of us who are determined to abide by the laws of patriotism, faith, and brotherhood. We are all part of a battle fought since the beginning of time. A Covenant of Poppies is the first book in series of political- conspiracy-psychological thrillers that will take the reader across the globe and into the unknown world lurking just beyond this one, as well as the unfamiliar one within. Some of the books planned will border on Science Fiction and what some might call Alternative History. A Covenant of Poppies might well be more general fiction than thriller or mystery, but it contains elements of each. Please offer me your feedback, and if you like the story, your votes. I am very interested in hearing what you have to say.
