Ellie Graham, Garrett Graham's younger sister and a sophomore on the Briar women's soccer team, has always been firmly in the background of her brother's world, familiar with his friends, his teammates, and especially John Logan. She and Logan have known each other for years, long enough to trade teasing remarks and inside jokes without thinking twice, but never long enough for anything to cross the line. That changes when Ellie starts running into Logan more often around campus, from chance encounters to situations where they're forced into close proximity. What starts as familiar banter and effortless teasing slowly shifts into something sharper, more attentive, more personal, and harder for both of them to ignore. Not even her two best friends, Hannah and Allie. Although this hockey playing mechanic not only thaws the ice around her guarded heart, he fixes it as well.

Everyone falls, it's inevitable. What isn't guaranteed is if you get back up. Goldie isn't expecting to fall, not now and certainly not this way, but she finds herself enjoying the feeling despite her better judgement. She's in her last year of her Sports Therapy Bachelors at Briar University and desperate to graduate this year with her peers. Determined to make it work she doesn't turn down the chance to work under the Hawks' personal physiotherapist, after all it's that or nothing. John Logan is used to getting back up after a fall, it's all he's known and he's confident he's become quite good at it. On the ice he's a star, the team rely on him, his coaches have faith in him.
