"So this was all just a game to you . . .this whole time, you pretended to like me in order to humiliate me in front of the entire school?" An air of melancholia surrounded me, eyes watery like never before. "Were your feelings for me ever real?" There wasn't even a trace of an apologetic expression on his features as he tucked his hands in his pockets, before he gave a nonchalant shrug. The sudden urge for revenge became a prominent priority. He regarded me passively. "It's not my fault that you fell for me in the first place." he justified as he advanced my way, closing the gap between us. Unstably, I strode backwards on the concrete. ". . .stay back." I whimpered. "You're nothing but cold hearted." ·•● Two years ago, Emery Roy was tragically exposed to what some could call an intense betrayal all thanks to the originator - Dean Darnell. “you are like the blissful smell of fresh coffee on a Monday morning” - 16 year old Rayla Evans was the town’s Golden Girl, being the mayor’s daughter. Her days consisted of parties, interviews, snobbish balding men and their pretentious wives. When she stepped into the local café at two in the morning, she was not expecting to stumble upon Derrick Nolan, the outcast. Or at least that is what the townspeople know him as. What they don't know, both of them share a past that intertwined their lives. Who knew that so much could happen over a cup of coffee. ❝run-on sentence - in which two independent clauses are joined without proper punctuation and conjunctions.❞ Ellie had always been an introvert. She would rather stay home to watch her favorite TV shows, cleaning out a jar of peanut butter and occasionally rereading Pride and Prejudice for the nth time while the rest of the world continued to socialize. Wes had always been good at making friends. He could buy some Gatorade at a convenience store and end up befriending the middle-aged cashier behind the counter or ride the bus and end up having fifty inside jokes with his seatmate before he gets to his stop. Together, they were like a run-on sentence: Two entirely separate thoughts colliding with each other to form a string of words, woven together together to form a chaotic kind of beauty. --- Cover by Kodie (@deadlier)
