Laura Marano goes to a new school called 'Mellissa Raucksis Private School'. She used to be home schooled along with her sister Vanessa. On the first few days she realizes that the kids there are very mean and cruel and rich and perfect. They make fun of her. Then,the boy of her dreams, stands up for her and takes her under his wing. She comes to find out his name is Ross and he is in a band called R5. She meets his brothers, Rocky,Riker, and Ryland who isn't in the band, his sister, Rydel, and their friend ,Ratliff. It also turns out they are dormates. Crazy life huh?

Laura's an internationally famous singer but that doesn't mean she doesn't still struggle in life. Having forgotten her past, she goes back to her home town but something happens there at her concert that marks the last straw for her. Already having been suicidal, things draw to a close in her life... or so she thinks. When she meets a friend from the past, will she finally remember what she used to be and let go of what made her the way she is now? Will she find her savior or will she fail to realize that even famous, rich people like her need some saving? Laura's a school teacher. Ross is a student reliving his senior year for about the thousandth time. The two have quite a past and when Ross moves to LA where Laura works, they are reunited and things go a wry.
