Philippine mythology is the body of myths, tales, and superstitions held by Filipinos, mostly originating from beliefs held during the pre-Hispanic era. Some of these beliefs stem from pre-Christian religion that was specially influenced by the Hinduism and were regarded by the Spanish as "myth" and "superstition" in an effort to de-legitimize precolonial faith by replacing those native beliefs with colonial Catholic Christian myths and superstitions. Today, some of these precolonial beliefs are still held by Filipinos, especially in the provinces. Filipino myth is incorporated from various sources, having similarities with Indonesian and Malay myths, as well as Christian traditions, such as the notion of Heaven (kaluwalhatian, kalangitan, kamurawayan), Hell (impiyerno, kasamaan), and the human soul (kaluluwa). Filipino mythology attempts to explain the nature of the world through the lives and actions of gods, goddesses, heroes, and mythological creatures. A majority of these myths were passed on through oral tradition. - This Book contains : - the creation myth - list of deities - list of creatures - the story of Lapu-Lapu - 2018 -Completed-

❝ Philippine mythology is quite interesting, but besides the usual aswangs and tikbalangs, not a lot of it is known. If you've picked this up with the knowledge of only those creatures, then you'd be surprise at how much we've barely scratched the surface. ❞ ⎯ an informal, but informative take on ph mythology • the tales are rewritten but with the original events unaltered from its sources to the best of the author's abilities. book cover by adlao

From the renowned Filipino reformist and national hero Dr. Jose Rizal comes a classic piece of literature that served as the spark for the nation's revolution and the eye-opener regarding the disease that has been festering within the Philippine society during the Spanish era. After seven years of studying in Europe, a wealthy young gentleman by the name of Juan Crisostomo Ibarra returns to the Philippines, filled with hope and inspired by dreams for the betterment of the country. Armed with sheer determination and a firm and positive outlook on things, he commits himself to continuing his father's philanthropical work, pioneering projects aiming at the development of the people's welfare by providing means to education and livelihood. While there are people who are avid supporters of the young man's cause, there exists in the shadows an entity as dark and malicious as the abyss it came from, shrouded deeply by lies and deceit and the hypocrisy that spawned it, hell-bent on destroying everything that stood in its path...
