At the age of 20, Hiccup and Merida get married. They were so deeply in love at the time that they thought love would last. Sadly it didn't and the two split 5 years later. They had a daughter at the time and she was 4 years old. Merida never liked her but Hiccup loved the kid to death. Hiccup and Merida took turns every week with their kid so they each had the same amount of time. Merida found a lover only a week after the divorce papers where signed and Hiccup is still single and raising a daughter on his own every other week. Now, 6 months after they divorce is when I step into the picture. My name is Astrid Hope Hofferson and I'm a dance teacher down at the local dance studio. I also sing and preform at parties and large events. I'm struggling to earn money to help my mother who owns a bakery in town. My father is in the military which makes it even harder for my brother and I to pay my mother's medical bills. Astrid is a Sophomore in high-school, living in the historic city of Berk. Her grades are failing and she has two options: find a tutor and possibly destroy her reputation as the most popular girl in school, or be assigned one and never play a school sport again. Little does Astrid know, that an option three is going to present itself soon. One day on her way home from school a handsome but gimpy stranger runs out of an alley and knocks her over. This stranger is quickly followed by three men in black suits who are asking if anyone has seen the boy. A week later Astrid manages to locate the boy and she confronts him about his identity. Turns out this gimpy boy's name is Hiccup, and he is under the constant protection of the FBI. See, Hiccup is a technological genius and the worlds greatest hacker, he is being hunted by Gang Lords so that they may posses his genius and use it for evil purposes. That's not even mentioning the dragon he is protecting after it was thawed out of an iceberg. Maybe this Genius is just what Astrid needs, and maybe he needs her just as much. Who else could successfully keep him out of trouble? Certainly not the FBI!

After a disastrous raid, Hiccup has been replaced as Heir to Berk and almost disowned by his father. Bullied, ostracised and alone, can he find a way to repair the damage and make his father proud of him? Set during and after the first movie.
