After a failed suicide attempt, 15 year old Alexa is abandoned by her parents. That is, if you could consider them parents in the first place. She has been living in a psychiatric ward in New Jersey for a little over 3 months. The only escape she has from her past, depression, and suicidal thoughts is the guitar in the art and music therapy room which she loves with her entire heart and soul. Music has always been an escape for Lexa, but here it is her lifeline. When My Chemical Romance do a surprise performance at that very hospital, Frank hears Alexa playing one of their songs.
