February 19th, 2018 He is test subject Three-eleven-thirteen. Ellie for short. He's human. Remarkable. He can breathe freely, no tubes. His heart has adapted to beating on it's own. He opened his eyes yesterday, we looked at one another. He looked at me, truly looked at me. My daughter, Ripley, tried speaking with him, but he didn't understand. I will have her keep working with him. He will speak. February 23rd, 2018 He is standing. His bones are still fragile, but he is gaining muscle rapidly. This is incredible progress in such little time. Everything is going as planned, though his fingernails are black. They weren't black yesterday. March 13th, 2018 Ellie attacked Ripley last night. He will be kept in restraints from now on. March 27th, 2018 My God he is strong. The mysterious blackness that had formed in his fingernails is now flowing in his veins. Whatever this black liquid is, it's possessing him. April 4th, 2018 He bit me last night. I can feel the mystery in my veins. What is this? April 5th, 2018 Test subject three-eleven-thirteen, Ellie, will no longer be a patient of mine. I have locked him up in a cell in my lab. I fear him. He will stay in that cell for God knows how long until he starves to death. I am a coward. April 6th, 2018 I can't tolerate this. I think I'm truly losing it. My memories, my spirit, I feel them being eaten by this black virus. I have to end this tonight. I have to end myself tonight. I have too. Ripley, my sweet daughter, I love you baby. I am sorry for creating that abomination. I am so sorry.

River Stone, an intrepid archaeologist, has uncovered what most only dream of-an ancient, hidden tribe deep within the Amazon, the Ibori, protectors of forbidden magic, vast wealth, and deadly power. With her archaeologist friend, Christopher Rai, she navigates the treacherous jungle to reach their sacred sanctuary. But it's Yisrael Ibori, the firstborn son of the clan's leader, Yuri, who is tasked with keeping watch over their "guests." Dutiful and fierce, Yisrael carries out his responsibility with unwavering focus, but there's a problem. River. Every step she takes, every movement of her body, draws his attention like a magnet. The way her hips sway, the deep rise of her chest, the soft curve of her lips-they haunt him, pulling at something deep inside, a longing he can't ignore. For River, the discovery of the lost Ibori history is the culmination of her career. She stands on the precipice of a monumental victory. But the moment her eyes lock with Yisrael's piercing onyx gaze, the treasures of the Ibori suddenly seem insignificant. There's something more precious here, something far deeper than the artifacts or the legends she's chased her entire life. What begins as a war between the mind and heart quickly grows into a battle neither of them can win. River knows her sharp intellect can't outwit Yisrael's unshakable resolve, and Yisrael is torn between his duty to his people and the undeniable pull of desire. In a world where power, magic, and temptation collide, will they fight the fire burning between them-or will it consume everything they've ever known? Seventh Book of V-series A standalone novel

Reiz Hall, an ambitious undergrad studying Renaissance Literature at Oxford University, has no time for distractions. Her life is a whirlwind of exams, papers, and barely a moment to spare for her family. But there's one thing that consistently breaks her focus: her roommate's infuriatingly perfect boyfriend, Lucius Black. Lucius, a platinum-haired, too-hot-for-his-own-good surgeon, is everything Reiz doesn't want. His smug grin, arrogant confidence, and distracting presence are like nails on a chalkboard. As far as she's concerned, he's nothing but a gorgeous pain in the ass. He thinks she's a smart-mouthed, fiery little pixie-and he's not wrong. But trouble looms when Reiz notices the way his eyes follow her. That spark of interest that lies beneath his infuriating indifference. What begins as a game of verbal sparring soon spirals into something much more dangerous-a battle of wills that neither can seem to stop. The tension between them simmers, thick with unspoken desire and resentful attraction. Neither is willing to back down, but how long can they keep provoking each other before one of them breaks? In the game of hate and attraction, the stakes are higher than either can anticipate-because when these two collide, it's not just pride on the line. It's everything they didn't see coming. Venus Williams had everything most could only dream of-a life of privilege, sophistication, and the kind of effortless success that came from never having to struggle. At Burbington High, she was untouchable, a student of high society, reigning supreme as Student President. Politics, manipulation, and control were her weapons, and she wielded them with precision. But there was one thing she had never known: the true depth of love or pleasure, and, perhaps more crucially, the harsh sting of pain. Her life was a perfect, curated world, until she found herself stuck in the most unlikely of places-a tight corner, humiliated and sneered at by none other than Frank Harris, the school's janitor. The encounter was unexpected, and frankly, beneath her. Venus wasn't used to being challenged, let alone being taken down a peg by someone like him. Frank Harris had seen the worst life had to offer. Born from the grittiest circumstances, he had learned early that good things never lasted, that hope was a fleeting thing. He had long since stopped believing in anything but his own resilience. Yet, he couldn't seem to avoid Venus. She was always there, in the most compromising of situations, and every time they crossed paths, they couldn't help but clash. Their exchanges were filled with biting sarcasm, insults, and a constant, unsaid tension. They bickered, they degraded each other, and still, they circled around one another, two forces that couldn't help but collide. Neither was willing to admit it, but something about the constant pull between them was undeniable. The question remained: How long would they keep circling? And when the inevitable finally happened, would they crash, or would something deeper, darker, rise between them-something neither of them was prepared to face?
