It's 1857 and Katherine Collins is lucky enough to become a temporary maid at the Middleton estate. She has two goals: earn money and remain unseen. She quite despises making such a scene, for it brings her anxious thoughts. But her goal of remaining a wallflower is tarnished when the charmingly handsome Mister Jonas Edgar spots her. As a close friend of the Middletons, Jonas Edgar and his fiancee are spending a period of time on the estate before their marriage.
