"'Ah, let me introduce myself. Hi, I'm Sam Hill. I tend to be childish, immature, and have no self-control whatsoever. What that means is that whenever I see a big, red, dangerous looking button, I just want to do THIS!' Sam reached his hand up towards the conspicuous cherry red dome.
'No!' Viper howled.
'Sam! No! Don't press the big red button!!!' I cried.
Hand made contact with plastic. 'And he pushed it,' I sighed in exasperation.
The whole command center started shaking violently as red lights flashed and a piercingly loud siren wailed. 'Warning. Self destruct in two minutes,' a computerized female voice stated with ironic calm."
Alexis Smart, or agent 009, is an overworked, over-stressed secret agent for the U.S. Government in dire need of a vacation. Her partner for life (unfortunately), Sam Hill, AKA 023, is a complete child with a talent for making everything go wrong. Over the years, he has ruined several missions through his clumsy and distractible nature. After failing the most important mission of their career, thanks to 023, Sam's agenthood is in danger.
When an agent is defective, they undergo a complete mind wipe that erases all traces of their former lives. They are planted in hospitals all over the world and labeled as John Does. Determined to keep his job and memories, he ropes Alex into his plan to take down "The Viper", one of the foulest, most elusive crime lords of all time. If they capture him, they will receive the ultimate promotion. If they fail, Sam will undergo a complete mind wipe; abandoned, cold and alone with no recollection of HQ or his partner, Alex.
Fortunately, they're not alone. Assisting them are agents 008, 029, 011 and 044, the Boss, his daughter, and Quincy Quarterman, HQ's computer genius. Follow the twists and turns as this unlikely team tries to fight its way into the belly of the beast. The question is, will Sam and Alex be able to fight their way out?
