Mr and Mrs Conklin got a divorce due to this. Belly and Steve aren't exactly fond of Y/n as she is the reason their parents aren't together. Laurel isn't fond of her 2nd daughter either. Mr Laurent calls his daughter from France twice a year, for her birthday and Christmas. Taylor is constantly telling Belly to treat Y/n better. Where her mother doesn't come through, Susannah is like a mother to Y/n. Conrad and Y/n were never that close but Jeremiah had a special bond with the girl. When Susannah enrolls Y/n to be a debutante, Jeremiah agrees to be her escort, it piques jealousy from Belly and feelings are exposed. "Jeremiah will never love you, Y/n" "Too late, Bells."
