She caught his arm. "No, please - Thorin - the company needs you, I-" The breath caught in her throat. His gaze remained turned from her. "You can't go. Please!" Desperate, her hands went to his face, turning it back towards her. "Please." The word came out barely a sound. "Stay with me." ------------- She joined the quest to reclaim a mountain. She didn't expect to reclaim herself along the way. Louisa Goldsby has spent her whole life reading about the world beyond the Shire's borders. She knows the terrains, the dangers, the histories, the cultures - everything except what any of it actually feels like. When Gandalf arrives with a company of thirteen dwarves and an offer she cannot refuse, she discovers that no book could have prepared her for what she finds along the way. Not the road. Not the company. And certainly not the king. As the company travels deeper into danger, Louisa begins to understand that her presence on this journey is no coincidence - and that Gandalf's reasons for bringing her along reach further back than the desolation of Smaug and further forward than the reclaiming of Erebor. Perhaps she should have known better. After all, she had read enough to know: a wizard's intentions always run deeper than they let on. ------------- "This whole chapter has me GAGGED. I was already desperate for more after the heartbreaking encounter between Bard and Louisa but THIS? Incomparable. This chapter takes the cake. The lore is lore-ing. The feels are being felt. The shock has shocked. Absolute tea. The drama? The chaos? No other words. No crumbs. No food is needed to be consumed to be this gagged on the sheer volume of fine shyte I just read. Give me an oxygen mask, please, I need to breathe." - Comment by @hoecules on Chapter 21

A Beauty and the Beast inspired retelling with Thranduil the Elvenking and a human reader from a nearby village. When you take your father's place in the Elvenking's dungeons, you expect to stay locked down there for the rest of your life. After the king's son, Legolas, gives you a room to stay in, and your escape attempt ends rather differently than you had hoped, a tentative bond begins to slowly form between you and Thranduil himself. However, the past won't leave either of you be, as a tormented shadow lies upon his heart and the people from your village inch closer to the Elvenking's Halls. Things within the Woodland Realm are changing but can you truly melt the heart of the Elvenking? And should it even matter... when he is immortal and you are not?

The time has come. Erebor still lies within the Lonely Mountain, and Smaug has not been sighted for years. The regal line of Durin must reclaim their homeland once more. But, when Gandalf the Grey tasks Ravonna the White, the greatest sorceress of Middle Earth, to join the Company, she faces many great obstacles that she never wished to encounter again. Finding love with Thorin Oakenshield was never her plan, but that was not the only surprise her fate had in store. Darkness had once again found a way to creep into and to corrupt her heart, but will Ravonna be able to banish it? Will she be successful in saving the line of Durin- or will she fail? This is a Fanfiction following the adventures of Thorin Oakenshield in J.R.R. Tolkien's novel, the Hobbit. DISCLAIMERS: 1. I do not own any of the characters besides from Ravonna. Aside from the main storyline, any other scenes or events are my own. All other rights go to J. R. R. Tolkien and Peter Jackson for the original works, the movies and novel of the Hobbit. I also do not own this image, credits go to it's rightful owner. 2. There are TONS of mistakes and plot errors in this book. PLEASE keep in mind that I started and finished this when I was only ELEVEN YEARS OLD. Because this was the first thing I ever wrote, know that this is not a representation of my best work (if you do want to another Thorin fanfic from me, check out Rue, now online). I don't mind criticism, but please be patient and enjoy the story for the substance, not necessarily the accuracy :) Sending much love to all of my fellow Tolkienites and thank you for all of your support so far! I hope you enjoy this story!

~ The sequel to "Daughter of Beorn" has been released! Check it out! It's called "The Skin-Changer Prophecy." ~ Gandalf looked down at the small child partially hidden behind the skin-changer's legs. Her green eyes sparkled as she tossed a small pebble at the stranger's feet before giggling. The mischevious little one then toddled off a bit to chase a butterfly that had caught her attention. "She cannot stay here." Beorn said. "It is unsafe for a child. I do not want her to... be exposed. To my other form." "You seem to forget that she is your daughter." The wizard replied, shifting as a small breeze came through the forest. "And I am not trained in the art of raising children." The two men momentarily turned their gazes back to young Kyja, who was too occupied following the winged insect. Compassion soon struck the wizard's heart. "Yet... there is someone that could care for her. He is an odd fellow, relates more to animals than any other living creature- but he is genuinely kind, and will be able to assist Kyja in the following years. Radagast the Brown is his name." And so, the journey begins. Far into adulthood, Kyja is introduced to a completely new world when Gandalf proposes an offer- to join a band of dwarves to help them save their homeland. Haunted by past memories and scars, the skin-changer is forced to come to terms with her own history while accepting the new fate she has been given. Humility, love, and sacrifice are only some of the lessons learned in: Daughter of Beorn. ~ All ideas, concepts, and plot lines pertaining to The Hobbit all belong to J.R.R. Tolkien. Nevertheless, the creation of Kyja and any additional characters not in the original piece are mine. The cover photo is not mine. ~
