[Love that crossed power and empires] "Is there any problem, begum?" I asked, placing the book aside, my voice neutral but alert. She swallowed. "I have given my consent," she said, so softly it barely carried, "You should get married to Inaayat Amira." For a moment, I thought I had misheard. My head snapped up. My ears sharpened, every muscle in my body going rigid. "Perdon me?" I said, rising to my feet. "Repeat that." I took a step toward her. Then another. She said nothing. Her gaze dropped to the floor, lashes trembling, as if words had suddenly betrayed her. A dry, humorless smile curved my lips. "Itni samajdar ho gayi," I said quietly, stopping in front of her, "ki apne sohar ke liye faisle karne lagi?" I lifted her chin between my index and middle finger. Her skin was warm. Too warm. She flinched at the contact. "Itni samajdar," I continued, my voice lowering, sharper now, "ki mujhe baantne ke liye bhi taiyaar ho gayi aap?" I forced her to look at me.

#𝟓 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬 They said grief changes people. But I remember when I looked at him, he didn't look broken. He looked awakened. Like a man who had finally found a reason to breathe again. Unfortunately, that reason was me. There's nothing loud about him. Forget raising his voice he barely speaks unless he has to. He just watches quietly, like a wolf waiting for its prey to stop running. When a man like him decides you're his, he doesn't need to say a word. He didn't have to touch me to make me feel trapped. He just had to look. And maybe that's what chains really are...not metal or rope, but the slow suffocation of being seen, claimed, and never asked if you wanted to be free. If the girl I was four years ago had seen who I am today, she would have laughed at herself, completely unaware that one day she would herself say that: Arhaan Mirza is my fate, my curse, my damnation and the chains of desire my soul refuses to break free from. ~ Arhaan X Eyana

~ A story as a Poetry itself ~ MURAAD SIDDIQUI "He never touched the flame. He simply waited for it to burn its way to him." Born into power, raised in shadows, Muraad Siddiqui was promised a bride before he could even tie his shoelaces - a girl he'd never met, but whose name sounded like poetry: Siya. While the world handed him legacy, influence, and control, he built a life around the only thing he never chose but always wanted. By the time she stepped into his haveli, still a child in uniform, he had already crafted a world where she was the centre. But love like his is not tender. It's sharp. Unvoiced. Unholy. Because how do you love someone who sees you as a stranger, when you've lived every breath for them? He stays close-but silent. Present-but untouchable. Not because he can't confess. But because what he feels could undo her entire world. SIYA RAGHUVANSHI "She was signed away with a pen. And now she lives in a palace she never asked for, but still always dreamed of-with a man whose eyes know too much." All Siya wanted was to study literature, hide behind her books, and lose herself in fictional darkness. But instead, she was unknowingly married off at fifteen - not out of love, but a centuries-old debt of honour. Now, she lives in Siya Mahel, a haunting haveli, filled with whispers, strange rituals, and one devastatingly silent man who keeps rubbing her feet every night as she falls asleep. She doesn't know what binds them. She doesn't understand why he flinches every time she asks him questions. Or why his gaze is both a prayer and a punishment. All she knows is that her life isn't hers anymore... And the one man who seems to care, is the one she fears the most. ~ One haveli. Two families tied by silence. Seven sacred stages of love. And a birth from shadows. Love is a blessing. But what if it's also a sentence you can't escape. This isn't a story. It's a rebellion sealed in sindoor and blood. ~~

"I thought I told you to stop telling me what to do." I whispered meekly. "I thought I told you that I wanted you here, with me. I want your happiness. Not your anger." His lips touched my ear when he spoke; I was shaking. "You never said you wanted that." "But that is what I meant." "I don't live in your head, Adam. I can't just figure out what you want." "But you do." The hand that had been on the edge of the skin trailed up the side of my waist and then back down. "I can't fucking focus on anything else. For generations, the Khan and Qureshi families have been at war - their enmity flowing as endlessly as the river they fight over, and as fiercely as the land they claim. Blood has been spilled on both sides, but their code of honour never allowed harm to their women. Until one night, an alleged Khan attack on Qureshi land goes wrong. Aaliyah Arbaz Qureshi, the proud and fiery eldest daughter of the Qureshi household, is kidnapped in the chaos. She is later found by none other than Hashim Raza Khan, the heir of the rival family - and returned home. But in a world where honour is currency, her injured leg becomes a permanent mark, and the Qureshis demand blood in exchange for their daughter's dignity. The Khans refuse. Tensions threaten to ignite into all-out war... until a respected elder proposes the unthinkable: a marriage between Hashim and Aaliyah. The man accused of orchestrating the attack... and the woman whose life was shattered by it. To prevent further bloodshed, they agree. The nikkah takes place. An uneasy peace is born. But there is no trust. No friendship. And certainly, no love. Then, Aaliyah is sent abroad by her family, out of her husband's reach. Hashim, still young and bound by the politics of his elders, can do nothing. Seven years pass. When she returns, she finds the river still flows, the feud still simmers - and the man she married now a colder, sharper, and far more dangerous figure than the boy she left behind. Between them lies a marriage in name, a history of blood and betrayal, and a battlefield where politics, manipulation, and forbidden longing collide. In this war of hearts and honour... Love may be the most dangerous weapon of all.
