Little does he know what this piece of equipment can do. More so he doesn't know what this weapon can do. Suddenly crisis strikes and they are faced with an old enemy. One lab rat is put into extreme danger. The family tries to track down the missing lab rat by using their only clue. The weapon. After a horrible mission gone wrong, Bree Davenport is devastated. Not only had she and Adam failed the mission, but it was at the cost of Chase's life. Now she's left to praying her younger brother will stay. But at what price? How far would you go, to save a life?

Chase was born abnormally small and goes through a rough time until he's hospitalized and the doctors manage to save him. As he gets older, he starts getting random bursts of pain and soon he realizes that Mr. Davenport seems to be by himself a lot, and he seems to be keeping something from Chase. When bree smashes her chip she finds out the truth about her past. Bree becomes weaker without her chip and finds out that's what was keeping her alive. Will chase and Mr davenport be able to fix it before it's to late. Even if they fix it will she be the same.

The hope (for family) Summary Chase is offered a mission to help update military software and weaponry. Something goes wrong and he returns later than promised. He comes back with deadly wounds leaving him unable to train as well as needing to keep them a secret. The reality of what happened to him in those few months are stuck haunting him each night. Meanwhile trying to fight the vivid memory of what happened, a friend from the military base comes to chase's home after finding a picture that belonged to chase. The picture displaying a familiar face from his past.

What will happen when Bree is kidnapped? Who did it? Will she die? Will she ever have trust in her family again? And what happens in the aftermath of it all? First in the Bree's Life series.
