The color of grief varies. For some, it's red, hot, vengeful, anger. For others, it's black, a solid nothingness. But when those feelings settle, it's always a deep, navy, blue. Water you dive into, to reach for the bottom, to struggle, to maybe drown. A wave that crashes until it's terraformed the mind to accustom to the harsh tides. Perhaps that was the color of the sky on November 10th, 2020, when Jeon Jungkook took his last breath, when the world stopped breathing, when the last great dynasty crumbled. Perhaps it has never brightened since. Perhaps that dusty, gold encrusted blue, has bled past the emotion of grief into everything else. Into the inhale and exhales of every breath. Bangtan doesn't know any better than blue. From the bottom, there is the deepest, nearly black, shade that colored in that fateful night. A few rows up and it's that navy, manageable but residing in the back of their minds like a childhood book with their fingerprints all over the pages. And there's miracles, the brightest tint, so close that it's almost white. But never that pure. There's a price for everything. For the faintest taste of peace, sometimes, it's sanity. --- Originally on AO3 as two separate works 'to the one who will never see this' and 'to the one I swore would never see this.' "But if that accident is inevitable," I murmur, eyes softening. "Would you want me to let go?" Jeongguk pauses for a moment. "Leave the guilt and regret to me," he replies softly. "Once you start a journey, you finish it. It's only right for you to let go because-" "Because you want me to be happy?" She cuts him off. He smiles. "That's right." Or: She met him at an ungodly hour when her life was falling apart. With a backpack full of snacks, a bucketlist, the clothes on their backs, a stolen car, and a hundred secrets, they make a little escape together. Even if it wouldn't last forever. "I've given this book a total of six re-reads, yet I can't help but bawl every single time. This story is as equal parts beautiful as it is heart-breaking." - sugakookie20O1 "I've read a lot of sad Jungkook fanfics but this one really put me into a bunch of tears and I think this book would always remain in my heart and I could wait a hundred and twenty-five years for a sequel." - jjungkookimnida "Being honest, I'm not a crier. I don't usually cry when reading books. But the plot twist and how you've written the book... I'm literally lost for words and I broke down sobbing." - Moonlightreadings1 I can't even begin to explain how many feelings this book has brought me. It's just one of the best things I've ever EVER read. It could honestly turn into a movie and it'll be one of the greatest movies of all time and honestly deserve an Oscar." - BtsTrash_12 ACHIEVEMENTS 1st place in BTS BT21 AWARDS 2018 3rd place & Best Book Cover in 21ST CENTURY BTS AWARDS 2nd place in SERENDIPITY AWARDS 2nd place in COFFEE K-FICS [COMPLETED] Story format in note form © whippednation 2017
