This poem has to do with the legacy of residential schools and prejudice towards first nations peoples from Christian groups in Canada. Although it no longer lingers so strongly in the pews (to my knowledge), feelings of racism are still overwhelming in many parts of Canada to this day. Racism is far from dead, it's just covered it's face in gentle(r) words. I do not own the image used.
