It's been ten years since Thanos attacked earth. Ten years since the Avengers, or what was left of them, saved as many as they could. Once done, S.H.I.E.L.D gave the team a well overdue vacation. But for one, things didn't exactly go as planned. Steven Rogers began to have night terrors, day terrors, his sleeping was getting screwed up. Those close to him were telling the others he needed a break, but they wouldn't listen which in turn lead to an accident. It was then that Steve disappeared off the grid and no one could find him. Headlines across the globe called out for him, news channels mentioning his disappearance and reaching out for any information on him, but no one could find him. Even when he was hiding in plain sight, halfway across the globe in a little English town in Britain. That is, until one unsuspecting person found him, and realized it wasn't going to be that easy to get Steve Rogers, let alone Captain America, back.

Based off a theory my friend and I were discussing, don't know where we got it from but props to whoever it was :) When Steve went back in time to return the stones, he stayed in the 1940s with Peggy, or did he? Could he leave one if his teammates behind? He has to at least try and bring her back. Not a great description, sorry. Steve Rogers tried to isolated himself from the rest of the Avengers and the world after what he did to Tony Stark, his friend and teammate. However, after he drops Bucky off in Wakanda where he'll be safe, Steve feels more alone than ever. Natasha Romanoff is on her own. Bruce Banner is still missing, Thor is off who-knows-where doing who-knows-what, and the Avengers are scattered. Nevertheless, she's perfectly okay with being alone. She always has been. Knowing that Steve is alone, however? It worries her. And when HYDRA is involved, being alone may not be an option. --------------------------------------------------------------------- This fanfiction takes place after Civil War and before Infinity War. I am WELL aware that Avengers Endgame is probably going to invalidate every word that I write here, but whatever. I just wanted to write this. Years have passed since Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff shared their first kiss under the rain and went their separate ways, trying to rebuild their lives in a fragile world. But when a devastating conflict forces the Avengers onto opposing sides, old wounds resurface. Loyalties are tested. Love and duty collide once more. As the storm of civil war rises, Steve and Natasha must face the painful question: can something once broken ever be whole again? Peggy Carter found a little red head girl in Russia while on a mission, she brings her home and Howard Stark decides to adopt her. Years later Steve Rogers finds himself attracted to the beautiful adopted sister of Tony Stark, and learns that she has been keeping secrets from her brother.

This is after the Civil War. The Civil War is over and things are slightly better. Soon Steve realized that he made a mistake in kissing Sharon and that he is in love with some one else. He realizes he is in love with Natasha but he doesn't know if she even like him back. Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Marvel characters only the story line.
