Joey Lynch doesn't have time for Tommen girls. Not when he's got four younger siblings hanging off him, a father who treats his face like a punching bag, and a dealer waiting for his money. His school uniform smells like smoke, his knuckles are always split, and he's got a short fuse and a long list of people he doesn't like. Life's a grind, home's a warzone, and feelings? Not on the menu. Then she opens her mouth. Preslee O'Connor. Tommen royalty. Rich girl. Sharp-tongued, well-dressed, drunk off her arse and stumbling outside Biddie's bar like she owns the street. He should ignore her. He wants to. But then she talks. And she's smug. And rude. And annoying as f*ck. And now he's stuck with a walking headache in lip gloss and designer boots. She thinks he's scum. He thinks she's a spoiled brat. They're both right. They fight like it's foreplay. They argue like it's oxygen. And somewhere between the insults, the eye rolls, and the 'accidental' run-ins, something starts to shift. Something dangerous. Something real. But this isn't some sweet, enemies-to-lovers, kiss-in-the-rain bullshit. This is secret glances in crowded hallways. Swearing across pub carparks. Biting, bleeding, pretending you don't care when you do. It's everything messy, unspoken, and off-limits. Because Joey Lynch doesn't get good things. And Preslee O'Connor was never supposed to look his way. Too bad neither of them knows how to quit.

Nessa Byrne has always been the good girl. At 15, she's known for following the rules, keeping her head down, and never giving anyone a reason to talk. Sweet, steady, and impossible to fault, Nessa has built her life on control, on being the opposite of her older brother Flynn, whose name seems to live permanently on detention slips and whispered gossip around Tommen College. But beneath the neat uniforms and quiet smiles, Nessa is bored out of her mind. When she moves to Ballylaggin to join Flynn at Tommen, she tells herself nothing will change. She'll make the team, keep her grades up, and stay far away from the kind of chaos that seems to follow him and his friends everywhere. Especially Tadhg Lynch. Loud, reckless, and impossible to ignore, Tadhg is everything Nessa can't stand, and everything she learned the hard way not to want. A year ago, she was just another girl watching him from the sidelines. Now, she can't think of anything worse than being noticed by him. But Tommen has a way of blurring lines. Between good and reckless. Between control and curiosity. Between who you are-and who you might be if you let yourself slip, just for a second. And when one night changes everything, Nessa finds herself caught in the orbit of a boy she swore she'd never get close to. Because Tadhg Lynch doesn't follow rules. And for the first time in her life, Nessa Byrne isn't sure she wants to either.

Together through thick and thin since senior infants, Tadgh and Lilibeth are inseparable. What happens when the truth comes out and all of their heavily packed trauma and secrets come out? Will their friendship survive? This is a slow burn. I think I'm going to make another book after this one, and they might not even get together in this book. If they do there will be NO SMUT. Tadgh and Lilibeth are 6-12 in this book, and i don't feel comfortable writing about that stuff when their minors, that being said, keep in mind that for this book Lilibeth and Tadgh are TWELVE. This book is based in 1999-2005, and they aren't 18 until 2011, so womp womp. Most of the storyline belongs entirely to Chloe Walsh, apart from Lilibeth's backstory. All characters apart from Lilibeth, Annalise, Adam and Lilibeth's parents also belong to Chloe Walsh. This whole story is fictional, and any resemblance to people in real life, living or dead, is entirely coincidental. There will be mentions of SA, domestic abuse, drugs, etc. If you don't like or are uncomfortable with the topic, I would not recommend this book. ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴍᴇɴᴛᴀʟ ʜᴇᴀʟᴛʜ ᴍᴀᴛᴛᴇʀꜱ. There wont be trigger warnings at the beginning of chapters. I used to believe in one rule. Save yourself. Don't trust. Don't depend. Don't need-because the second you do, it gets taken from you. I learned that young. I learned it the hard way. And I was good at it. I kept my head down. I said the right things. I didn't make problems I can't fix, and I didn't get attached to people who come with warnings written all over them. It was easier that way. Safer. Then Joey Lynch happens. And suddenly I'm not careful anymore. I'm running barefoot through streets I shouldn't be in. I'm letting him see parts of me I've spent years hiding. I'm standing in front of him, heart in my throat, trying to figure out why he looks at me like I'm something worth saving-when he won't even save himself. He pushes me away like it's instinct. I follow him like it's mine. We don't talk about what this is. We don't put names on it. We don't even try to pretend it's normal. Because it's not. It's messy and reckless and too intense for something that was never supposed to matter this much. But the worst part? I don't want to stop. Even if it breaks me. Even if it destroys him. Even if, somewhere along the line, I forget how to be the girl who always survives.
