She's a good rider, and has the best horses to do it. Medallion was supposed to be one of those horses, but the quirky mare has no intentions of doing so. For five months she frustrated Vanessa, so Vanessa decides she has no choice but to sell her. However, when what would have been her third win of the eventing season is stolen from her by a gray gelding called Challenger, and his rider, Tessa Wellen, her world starts changing. Intrigued by the gray gelding, Vanessa wants to buy him. But Tessa turns her down firmly, and Vanessa can't understand why, until she rides him herself and finds out the gray gelding is not as easy to handle as she thought. A Challenge is a book I finished writing a couple of months back that's currently available on Wattpad in first draft form. To gain more publishing experience, try out other publishing companies, and maybe have a little fun, I've decided to self-publish A Challenge by the end of this year. I have self published before, with my short story Beneath the Willow Tree. And I'm excited to be publishing another now that I have a little bit more experience. Because of the betrayal of one, Ravine SwordCleaver's peaceful life in a farming village is shattered by Ravagers, an old enemy of the Seven Clans of Thathia. Her mother and father are taken captive as slaves by the betrayer, and Ravine makes a promise that she will come for them. But first, she has to locate her brother, who went missing in the aftermath of the raid. And it's not going to be easy, but Ravine wants nothing more than to get him back. And when she does, she's going after the one who betrayed them, to fulfill her promise to her family. Along the way she makes unusual friends, embitters enemies, and becomes known in her land as the Sword Maiden. The Sword Maiden is a clean, fun, adventuresome fantasy saga with swords, mysterious men, quirky characters, old-fashioned villains, movie-star worthy horses, and actual morals. It's realistic but with a dash of unrealism, as all great stories are, fun and also serious, and full of messiness. ..... Please note that I started writing this story in 2020, so the first chapters are not my best writing and I have improved. The cover was provided by Proverbs31_29 , whom is sadly not on Wattpad anymore that I know of. Updates are sporadic at the moment, but rest assured, I will not give up on this story! I enjoy its characters, world, plot, and readers too much to do that. The Sword Maiden is not a book, nor a series, but more of a saga at the moment. With all that said, please enjoy!
