❝ Roses are dead, love is fake, weddings are basically funerals with cake. ❞ Meet Akriti Marwaha, a gynecologist who loves to always keep her family happy and be that girl everyone ever aspired to be. Sass, Straight A's and stethoscopes are her best friends as she tries to solve her orthodox family's snarky remarks with eye rolls. Besides her disastrous cooking skills (if there is any), she tries hard to not fall and swoon over that random guy who would pull the door of star bucks for her. And Aadrik Agnihotri, a devilishly handsome businessman whom every parent warns you about. Callous, Cocky and carefree are the words that describe him the best. Name a bad trait, he has that but name a good trait and he has that too. A perfect concoction of angel and devil, he is. That one dimple on right cheek which peeks when he smiles always makes sure to take at least a hundred girls every time it goes down deeply and deplorably. All Akriti wanted was food, frocks and freedom but with that she ended up slipping into his arms as he caught her, this time promising to never let go. But wasn't he her school rival and her supposed best friend's ex? Hell he is but does that change the fact that they are married now? Oops. I mean, he is at least hot and can cook. Look at the good side? And he seems to always be coming back up to her sarcasm with a charming smile now? ➴➵➶➴➵➶➴➵➶➴➵➶➴➵➶ [I can't say the ml is a walking talking green flag throughout the book as they evolve from teenagers to adults. Two lives. One binding thread. A marriage built on everything but trust. Aadrika Rai has learned the hard way-trust is a luxury she cannot afford. Caught in a web of expectations, secrets, and betrayals, she knows that survival means keeping her heart locked away. But when an arranged marriage ties her to Reeyansh Dixit, she finds herself at the mercy of a man who is everything she fears-powerful, perceptive, and dangerously close to unraveling her carefully guarded truths. Reeyansh never believed in second chances. Betrayed by love once, he refuses to let the past define him-or his new wife. In a world where loyalties shift like the wind, he chooses logic over emotion, control over chaos. But Aadrika is unlike anyone he has ever met. Strong yet fragile, distant yet unyielding-she challenges his beliefs at every turn. In a marriage that began as a compromise, will trust ever find a place? Or will the broken threads of their pasts weave a future neither of them expected? What happens when two broken souls, bound by a marriage of convenience, discover a love neither of them ever believed they deserved? A story of strength, second chances, and love that defies expectations. ◉ ◉ ◉ ✿ Aadrika Rai: The only feeling I truly crave and fear to experience: Love. And here I am, wedded in an arranged marriage without being given any option, having my worst fears come true-of not being truly wanted, loved, or being let down again! The only expectation I have from my ARRANGED WEDDED HUSBAND is to be treated with respect. ✿ Reeyansh Dixit: I don't believe in love-the betrayal I have faced has crushed me too deeply. Aadhya Agarwal, 24, a young fashion designer with dreams dipped in red, lives like the warm glow of a diya on a quiet night. She's soft in the way she speaks, fierce in the way she loves, and carries that sunshine energy that makes people feel lighter just by standing near her. She believes in soulmate-level love, in rituals, in anklets that jingle when she walks toward a future she's always imagined for herself. Abhinav Malhotra, 30, a CEO carved out of discipline and silence, moves through life like a man who's forgotten what warmth feels like. His world is made of glass offices, cold coffee, and unspoken fears. Stoic eyes, quiet voice, careful steps - the sort of man who keeps his heart locked behind his ribs because he's convinced it doesn't deserve a home. She wants a real marriage. He gives her a contract instead. No reasons. No explanations. Just rules. But every rule shakes when her warmth collides with his silence, when her middle-class softness enters his billionaire world, when her brightness starts cracking the walls he's spent years building. Two strangers. One contract. A house full of tension. A heart full of secrets. A marriage that was never meant to feel this real. Tropes: ✨ arranged marriage ✨ contract marriage ✨ grumpy × sunshine ✨ rich × middle class ✨ fall-first-but-deny-it ✨ slow-burn tension ✨ emotional healing arc
