When Daisy agreed to fake-date James, the messy-haired Quidditch player in love with her twin, Lily, she never thought that she'd end up, horror of horrors, falling in love with him. And as He-Who-Should-Not-Be-Named's rise to power threatens to change everything, Daisy is left feeling stuck, with feelings for a boy who'll never love her back and guilt that grows day by day, and threatens to consume her and destroy everything.

"Why do you love her?" Daisy held her breath knowing that whatever he said would only hurt her, would only deepen the wound. Still, she kept quiet needing to know.
"Lily she's...stunning," James let out a soft chuckle. "She surprises me everyday. She's like that thrill when I'm playing Quidditch. Of not knowing what will happen next. And I love her for it."
Daisy looked down, fiddling with her fingers and letting the statement sink in. Suddenly without thinking, she blurted out her thoughts, " If you weren't in love with Lily, could you love me? I mean I'm nothing like her." She felt a flush creep up to her face as she mentally berated herself. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
He turned to look at her, and Daisy forced herself to look up, her heart beating so loudly that she was afraid that he could hear it too.She was struck once again by how dangerous this was, how she shouldn't be doing this. Still, she couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of his face, the small smile that graced his face as he looked at her, how the soft moonlight left him looking ethereal. And once Daisy heard his next words she knew she was screwed.
"Of course you aren't. You're my little wildflower."
Shit.
