In a country that treats cricket as a religion, Kabir Malhotra wasn't just a player; he was the god of the final over-a lethal, broad-shouldered storm in a blue jersey who broke records as easily as he broke hearts. But to Ananya Sharma, he was just the arrogant boy next door who had spent fifteen years perfecting the art of getting under her skin. He was her brother's best friend, her family's golden boy, and the man who currently occupied ninety percent of her intrusive thoughts. Kabir had plans. For him, the game didn't end at the stadium. He'd spent years playing a long, calculated game of cat-and-mouse, waiting for the girl who called him a "narcissist" to realize she was the only trophy he actually wanted. ****** "You think you're so powerful because you can hit a ball? You're just a narcissist with a fan club." "I'm a narcissist who knows exactly how you sound when I whisper in your ear. Keep using that sharp tongue, baby girl. I might just decide I want to feel it somewhere else. ******

I thought long and hard about posting this. It is another story based off of what we know about the real actors, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. I want to stress again that while incidents have been taken from their lives, everything I write is totally my imagination. I've thought for a while about why I like writing stories based on them so much. I think it is because they are such different people, yet they complement each other so beautifully. They seem to genuinely care about each other, and as a silent spectator to their public love story, I often find myself wondering about the ways they might have worked through their differences. Plus no one can deny their sheer chemistry. Please take everything written with a large spoonful of salt. I make no claims to know or represent anything real about Deepika or Ranveer. I respect both of them greatly as individuals, and anything I write is purely in the spirit of an affectionate tribute, nothing more. So, with that disclaimer in mind, I hope you like this story. P.S. Thank you to @deepveerian for encouraging me to write and giving me the confidence to post.

𝙎𝙝𝙧𝙚𝙮𝙖𝙨 𝙄𝙮𝙚𝙧 - charming, disciplined, and completely off-limits. He was her brother's teammate, eight years older, already taken - the one man 𝘼𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙣𝙖 𝙆𝙤𝙝𝙡𝙞 was never supposed to love. But rules were easy to make and impossible to follow. Growing up, Aashna had one golden rule drilled into her: no dating her brother's teammates. Especially not him - the man who smiled like sin and carried heartbreak in his eyes. Yet somewhere between team dinners, unspoken glances, and quiet plane rides, the lines began to blur. Every look felt like a risk. Every silence felt too loud. Because when love crosses boundaries, it's never just a game anymore - it's a dangerous choice that could destroy them both. Some boundaries are meant to protect you. Others are meant to be broken.
