Marianne Harper is not your average girl. She graduated high school when she was thirteen. She had two PhD's and has the highest IQ of anyone she's ever met. When she is offered a job at the BAU, she doesn't know what to expect. She may find that the job is a little more dark then she expected, as well as that the team might very well be the best friends she's ever had. She also may find another that's just like her, that she might like as more then a friend.

❝ But I'm only human and I bleed when I fall down ❞ The Behavioral Analysis Unit gets called in to assist on a serial killer case in New York. That's where they meet Special Agent Skylar Brown, a former military recruit with a past guarded better than Fort Knox, but it's her help during their first case together that ultimately leads Hotch to offer her a job at the BAU. Of course, she sparks the interest of all of her new co-workers, but no one is as interested in her as Doctor Spencer Reid. As far as clichès go, though, affection like that tends to either bring forth a happy ending or end in disaster. Spencer never planned to fall in love with his best friend and neither did Skylar, but with her past coming back to haunt her and the team, she knows she has to choose their happiness over her own to protect the people she loves the most.
