A Sequel to Lesson In Practicality! Living together was the best and most difficult thing they've ever done, but after all the things they went through together, there was no way they were splitting up now. A new apartment, a new start... and things can never be simple, can they? Roman, Patton, Logan, and Virgil just want to live their lives with their powers and each other, but having powers just makes things more complicated than they need to be.

Four seemingly random strangers all answer an ad to move into an apartment in downtown. It didn't take more than a few months before they all realize they've been hiding a secret from one another... they each have a special ability. Virgil's life has changed drastically since last October. In the span of eight months, he gained a group of friends, a boyfriend, and an actual place in the world---plus, spy-superhero education. Now, he and his friends are ready to start junior year... but the events of the past spring still linger in their minds, and there are signs that this year won't be as peaceful as the last. Virgil's always stayed in the shadows... literally. He was born with the ability to control them. He's mostly used it to make shadow creations when he's bored, or talk with his own shadow---who's pretty much his only friend. He doesn't know where the hell his powers come from, but he's not interested in finding out. All he's interested in is trying to get through sophomore year without a) failing, or b) embarrassing himself in front of cute guys. That is, until some British kid in a beanie---who can apparently shapeshift---shows up and tells Virgil that he's one of many people in the world with powers. And there's a place for teens to learn how to control them... and how to be spies. Soon, Virgil's navigating a new group of friends, crazy teachers, hidden biases, and an irritatingly dramatic (and adorable) roommate. High school's already hard enough without learning how to be a spy-slash-superhero, but hopefully, with enough luck, lack of will to live, and advice, Virgil will be able to make it through.
