Dream, the oh-so-popular jock hates George to death. George feels the same about dream, and he would challenge that he hated him more than Dream hated the latter, but that would result in endless bickering between the two. George loved Clay, it wasn't some dumb high school love, it was real love. Yet George had to keep it locked away deep inside his so very fragile heart, reason being that Clay was homophobic. Clay wasn't who you thought he was, he may seem like just another popular boy who went through liking girls, but Clay was in fact gay, only no one knew this and even Clay himself pushed it away at every thought about it. He got a girlfriend to push away the fact he was gay however he doesn't seem like her. The only way surely for George to forget about his love for Clay was to move on, find someone else, someone to fill the endless void in his heart, after making a profile on a dating website he thinks it will be easy to move on, turns out it's a lot harder than it seems. George is 17 and in his last year of high school when he gets terrible news. After having weird nosebleeds, strange bruises and a lot of dizziness, the doctors find out George has leukaemia. George's best friend, Clay, is there the whole day for George and as George fights his battle against leukaemia, Clay supports him in every way possible. He shaves his head too and is there with George in all of his chemos. He buys George his favourite beanies and even let someone make one for him. But doctors start to lose hope of George ever getting better and since there is no match for a stem cell transplantation, there is only one person left to help him.
