Sam siempre fue la que se esconde, y no la que lucha. Pero, cuando su madre muere, ella es acogida en casa de su tía, el mundo que la espera es muy distinto del que tenia pensado. Una noche, Sam esta mirando por la ventana cuando ve a un chico escabullirse en el bosque. Decide seguirlo y ve como el chico desaparece en el agujero de un roble. Sam no puede olvidar la escena, pero al día siguiente encuentra al chico en los pasillos del instituto. Esta decidida a averiguar la verdad, secretos mas grandes que ella misma, que podrían hacerla mas fuerte o destruirla. ¿Y si hubiera un mundo oculto a nuestros ojos?
