Camille Wildefall is 14 years old. She loves her father, and her brother who is facing his second reaping alongside her third. Her best friend Carter is also facing his third reaping. When the unthinkable happens, Camille and Carter find themselves transported to the Capitol: a luxurious, untouchable portion of Panem under the guise of celebration: They will do their district great honor fighting 22 other tributes from the 12 districts of Panem in a kill-or-be-killed competition. In the districts, she is herself. In the Capitol, she is idolized as a tribute. In the arena, she is faced with unthinkable decisions. She can't stand the way the Capitol cheers for her as if they won't cry for her death then move on as if nothing has happened so what does she do? Show her anger. The night before she enters the arena she receives a message. Threatening, Mysterious. Conflicting. She'll do anything to protect her loved ones but no matter what she does, will it ever be enough?
