Katie and Kristy Dee spent their lonely days watching Austin & Ally on Disney Channel while their parents went away on business, all the time. Katie was a skeptic at first, but a few episodes in and she was in love with the show - and the guy who plays Austin Moon, Ross Lynch. After her high school graduation, Katie finally gets the chance to meet Ross when she and Kristy go to an R5 concert a few hours away from their home in Tyler, Texas. Things don't exactly go the way she hoped they would, but a few chance encounters later and a road trip to Louisiana for another R5 concert, a relationship with Ross seems to be right around the corner. Until the girls get home and have a bombshell dropped on them: their parents are getting a divorce. This doesn't mean much for Katie who leaves for college at the end of the summer, but Kristy has been a part of a tug of war between her parents who can't decide who she's going to be living with when the divorce is final. From the moment their parents sat them down for "the talk," Katie and Kristy's lives have been turned upside down, no matter how much Katie tries to keep things stable for Kristy. The rest of the summer is going to be spent keeping Kristy in high spirits until she has to make a final decision about where she's living, the day the girls get back to Texas from their Los Angeles escapade. And there might be some unlikely twists and turns along the way, that will change how the summer, and the rest of the year, will end up...
