Yoongi divides parts of his life into the four temperate seasons of Korea- Spring: 봄 (bom), Summer 여름 (yeo-reum), Autumn / Fall: 가을 (ka-eul), and finally Winter 겨울 (kyeo-ul).
In Korea, winter often ceased during the middle of March; when the frost on the top of pine trees had melted on the front porch of Yoongi's childhood home, he remembers. Yoongi was born on the ninth of March- late Winter, early Spring. Even so, his mother had insisted, that when he was born, it was full swing in Spring.
There had been many Summers in Yoongi's life. He described them to be his fun, vibrant and carefree years. Most of his childhood had been left in this season.
When he entered middle school, the vibrance of Summer slowly desaturated. It was a muted season- nothing too happy but certainly nothing too forlorn. It was when Yoongi suddenly couldn't think much of anything and he thought smiling was too much work. That was Autumn, it was getting cold.
When Yoongi met him, he was at the winter of his life, when his situation got pitiable and he stopped trying to patch it up; the first taste of cold, stinging frostbite.
Late October, many more years before Spring, Yoongi met one embodiment of the four seasons in his life. This was the beginning of Winter. It started snowing.
