"Wow! Sounds like a lot of fun!" he exclaims and my heart dies. "What did you say?" He cannot be serious right now. He is not supposed to think that this is going to be fun. He is supposed laugh in my face then head downstairs to his group of friends and distract every girl in the cafeteria with his freaking face. That is how it's supposed to go. "Yeah, I'll be your date thing." NO. This is not how it's supposed to go. *** Carmen Estrella is NOT a party animal. No, no, no. She'd much rather stay home on her couch or hang out with her friends in a much more "low-key" manner. If she's feeling adventurous, maybe she'll even make it past her driveway. Definitely not interested in the party scene. So when Carmen's family and persistent 70-year-old grandmother insists on her having a Debut party for her 18th birthday, she doesn't hesitate before disagreeing. Unable to back out of the Filipino tradition, Carmen finds herself in a compromising situation of trying to find her Court of Honour and personal Escort when she hasn't spoken to the male population since birth. The plan? Ask Brennan Coleman, the most popular boy at school, get rejected, and fake being heartbroken so that her family will back off. However, when "the plan" doesn't go as planned, and Brennan miraculously agrees to be her date, Carmen finds herself pushed into the world of Filipino chaos, party planning, and handling Brennan Coleman at the same time. Meanwhile, they might even learn a thing or two about what it means to live in a diverse society. TW: some parts dealing with racism and racial slurs, colourism, homophobia and transphobia, mental illnesses (eating disorders and suicide), and acts of violence. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

DISCONTINUED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE [Highest rank so far: #57 in humor] "Boys. I don't understand them. At all. One of the most mysterious, misunderstood, and misinterpreted creatures of the planet. All we know is that they have a thing called the pen- -nevermind because I don't want to say that word..." *** Boys are the subject of every conversation in the girl's locker room, in the chatty hallways, on the staircase, and now, the science classroom. Kill me if that's not the slightest bit annoying. When 17 year old chatter-box and science geek, Alana-Lila Dizon hurls her beloved science textbook at the most popular golden boy of the school, accidentally almost knocks out an amazing athlete, and schools the smartest guy in school, maintaining an A-average in all the sciences becomes the least of her problems. Wesley (Wes) Sylvano is not a bad boy. He's known to be sweet, kind, and is all smiles. Everyone just loves him. Nicholas (Nick) Gray is the definition of scary. All around athlete, muscular physique, and with both a threatening and good reputation. Apparently he's nice to people unless you piss him off. Vincent (no nickname) Reid is your typical smart guy. He thinks he knows everything and that he's a genius, all because his dad is the CEO of a tech company. The jerk also doubles as a badboy, as they say. What do these boys have in common? Nothing, except for the fact that they're boys. And Alana-Lila Dizon is going to find out, once and for all, the science behind boys and why they're the way they are. WARNING: Contains 3 wild monkeys that may cause you to pull out your hair. Contains a girl with too much bad luck for her own good. May cause obsessive shipping, and/or laughing. Note: This is not a cliché...I think...mostly (cover picture is not mine, but belongs to the respective owner.)

"This book is therapy!" - Abbieking86 "I want to shoot my left knee cap," Elliot said. "A natural response. Is it because you favor your right?" Tristan asked. "No, not particularly," she replied. "So the issue is...?" "I found the most amazing writer." "Damn! I hate when that happens," Tristan said. Is it better to write well, or to be well known? Elliot McKenzie is a prolific YA writer. Having published four books by the time she left high school, she is ready to branch out. For her fifth novel, she decided to use dual point of views. Wanting the male point of view to ring true, she needs a co-author. In her search for a co-author, she encounters Beck Daniels, a cocky introvert with the habit of speaking his mind. After their first meeting, Beck is the last person Elliot wants to work with. That is, until she reads his writing. As they begin to write together, Beck challenges Elliot's formulaic and clichéd writing, while Elliot calls out Beck's self-sabotage and procrastination. Mix in a crazy family, her sister's wedding and a publishing deadline; and Elliot might discover she has more of a voice than she thought. "This story!! Seriously, I'm already hooked! First love is hard enough. It's new and exciting and absolutely terrifying and maybe even unrequited. When it's difficult for Skyler to move on from her silly little crush, she just has to take a leap of faith... at least that's what she was advised. All that's easy to say, but how hard is it to actually confess your feelings, spell it out and put your heart on the line? Meet Skyler and experience this struggle with her. *************** "What's the worst a confession could lead to?" Skylar thought when she decided to approach her long time crush, everything that followed was absolutely unexpected and totally hilarious... Only, maybe it's not so funny for Skyler. Ayden Smith is a lone wolf, or so she thought. He didn't exactly go out of his way to make friends and was a little too self-sufficient for his own good. Is it even possible he might return her feelings, seems unlikely... but when their paths intertwine, and things get out of hand, what could happen over the course of a summer...? Other than a tonne of embarrassing things that is... **************** If you are in the mood for a sweet heartwarming summer romance with not too much drama, this is the one for you. Note: This story could lead to a lot of second-hand embarrassment, uncontrollable smiling and loud obnoxious laughter. Proceed with caution⚠ *************** Thank you blackwidow999 for the book cover.

"So, let me get this straight. You stomped all over his paperwork?" She started. "Not intentionally, but yes," I confirmed it. "Threw a drink in his face?" She added. "Expensive red wine." I described. "Rammed into his car with yours deliberately?" she counted on her third finger. "Um...I'm not proud of that one," I said cringing. "And called him offensive names?" She ended the list and I winced. "Twice." I specified. "And you're still alive?" She blinked, looking genuinely surprised. "Geez, don't be dramatic or anything..." I frowned at her hyperbolic statement. "Maybe he's keeping you around to get revenge." She suggested. Possible. I wouldn't put it past him. "I didn't know alright!" I exclaimed. "Let's hope that excuse is acceptable.." She was merely amused. "Working with my new boss is going to be a piece of work." ** Synopsis: When the CEO of Signature Heights: Jensen Black, and a stubborn employee: Alexandra Brook, clash, it's a battle of wits & a war of perseverance. They are both dead set on making each other's lives hell, but when the story progresses they just might learn that first impressions could be deceiving. As circumstances reveal their true selves and opinions change, things could get complicated especially when suddenly feelings get involved. Who would be the first to concede? Maybe it's not that simple to forgive your archnemesis and maybe it'll result in some hilarious consequences... ** Book 1 of a two-part series (completed).High Rankings: # Funny, # Humor, # Comedy, # Romance, #Billionaire Amazing book, I adore your writing style, and I really enjoyed these characters and story -Reader Fantastic story, believably flawed characters and deft humour makes for a very engaging read, I could barely put it down to feed my children -Reader **
